Ayacucho Mission is looking to make an impact on our local community by volunteering at the CareNowUSA free clinic in Los Angeles this Oct 20-23.
Even though it seems like just yesterday that the group returned home from Peru, we are already looking for new ways to help the less fortunate in our own backyard. We are gathering a group of volunteers and friends from the Ayacucho Mission family to spend some time working at this worthwhile event. CareNowUSA needs help from clinicians and non-clinical volunteers alike. To get involved, just follow 2 easy steps.
1. Go to CareNowUSA's sign-up website to register as a volunteer. You can work any shift you like, but if you are interested to see when other Ayacucho Mission volunteers have signed up, please email Loretta at lrihbany@gmail.com.
2. Once you have signed up on the CareNowUSA website, please let Loretta know at lrihbany@gmail.com which shift you have signed up to work. We'd like to be able to coordinate our efforts and have Ayacucho Mission members working together.
This is an excellent chance to build on our experiences in Peru contribute to our local community. We hope to see many of you out there!

After a long overnight bus ride from Lima, the team arrived safely in Ayacucho Saturday morning, set up shop on Sunday and got to work this Monday morning.
Please keep the team in your thoughts as they work in Ayacucho and the surrounding communities of San Melchor, Nahuinpuqio, Huanta and Quinua. All the generous donations of time, money and resources are being put to good work!

Volunteer selections have been made!
We are happy to announce that a team of 87 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, techs, med students and other volunteers have been invited to participate in Ayacucho Mission 2011!
We regret that we could not bring every last applicant with us this year, as we had an exceptional group to choose from. If you applied for the mission and did not receive an email indicating whether you were selected for 2011, please contact John at main@ayacuchomission.org.
For those of you who were selected to join us and in the Southern California area, please come to an information meeting at the home of Blanca and Aaron Youngerman. Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced volunteer who has gone on the mission in the past, we’d really like to see you there to start getting to know each other, and so the experienced “veterans” can share experiences and advice with the newcomers.
The meeting will be held at:
1701 Summerfield Circle, Brea, CA
2:00-4:00pm
Light lunch will be served

Applications to join Ayacucho Mission 2011 are now available at ayacuchomission.org!
Applications to volunteer for this year's Ayacucho Mission are now available on the mission website at ayacuchomission.org. Applications are due March 31st for general volunteers!
In the online application form, you will see several questions about ways you can help out at the mission here in the U.S. before we head to Peru. Please sign up to help any way you can! It's a great way to feel involved and connected to the mission from the get-go, and of course, will make you that much more likely to be selected as a volunteer to join us in Peru.
This year's mission will run for two weeks. Week 1 volunteers should plan to arrive in Lima by the evening of July 8 to catch the charter bus to Ayacucho, and will work in Ayacucho from July 11-15. Week 2 volunteers should plan to arrive in Lima by the evening of July 15 to get on the second charter bus to Ayacucho, and will work in Ayacucho from July 18-22. Volunteers pay their own travel and hotel expenses so we can commit all of our resources to serve the people of Ayacucho.
This year promises to be especially exciting as we will work in the main city of Ayacucho, and will continue to expand our efforts into the surrounding small communities.
Please visit the website for more info, and of course, don't hesitate to email main@ayacuchomission.org with any questions!
